Get to know the area

Expect the broadest concentration of high-rise apartments: compact studios and one-bedroom homes, two-bedroom layouts, and some larger suites and penthouses. Much of the waterfront stock is newer than the older downtown office-conversion and mid-rise buildings. Look closely at window exposure, construction nearby, elevator capacity, and whether parking or lockers are included. Union Station serves GO, UP Express, VIA and TTC; the subway and streetcar network varies by exact address. Waterfront paths, parks and cultural venues are major draws, while visitor traffic and event crowds vary by block.
